There’s nothing better than receiving an awesome letter in the mail…you know, one that starts off with the word, “Congratulations!”
Especially for a company that you love.
I love Races for Awareness because when I run a virtual races, I know the proceeds are in good hands. Being an ambassador for Races for Awareness not only means I can earn a medal but I am supporting a company that supports charities. (If you haven’t read by now, I love to give and help and this is a perfect opportunity!) Good news – you can support these charities too!
When I looked over the list of charities to choose from – I have to admit, it was hard to pick just one but wipe that sweat from your brow, I did it!
Organic Farming Research supports the success of organic farming. In my personal opinion, I think we all need organic! The amount of harmful pesticides used on our food is quite alarming to say the least causing all sorts of illnesses! YUCK! Who wants that?
Organic Farming Research makes a difference and focuses on four areas:
- Policy: They take it directly to the big wigs in Congress and federal agencies
- Education: Integrate organic farming programs for agricultural universities
- Grant-making: Address urgent issues facing organic farmers in America and,
- Community: Creating a deeper connection among organic supporters
I decided to show my support in the form of running a virtual 5k through Races for Awareness.
It was quite simple: I purchased the Organic Farming Awareness medal and off I went for a 5k that I was comfortable in running – my own neighborhood!
Included my packet was not only an awesome medal (which can also be used for corking wine…what?!) but snacks, coupons and more!
Can you imagine being part of a HUGE movement such as organic farming? It’s true – your voice can make a big difference. If you ever watched The Bee Movie, you will know this to be true. One little bee stopped the production of honey and made the “working” system fail. Let’s not make our system fail but keep it strong and learn what organic farming can do for us. Always remember that one voice, your voice, is strong!
Sign up for a virtual race of your choice by clicking here. You can be part of a bigger movement!
Disclosure: As a Races for Awareness Ambassador, I was provided with a medal of choice in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.
