"Rah, I Happy."

Galen is 3 years old. He doesn't know how to tell me that he's hungry. He doesn't know how to tell me what on his body hurts. He doesn't know how to tell me that he's sick.

But, this week, he has started to tell me that he's Happy. And I cry happy tears EVERY TIME.

"Galen, are you Happy?" I'll ask.

Sometimes, he goes back to doing whatever it is he's doing.

Once in a while, I'll get his smiling face looking at me.

"Rah, I Happy."

Just typing it out makes my heart burst.

Does this make everything else go away? For that moment it does. For that moment, my little boy is a normal 3-year-old, talking to me. Telling me that he really is happy. I don't care if it's because he got cake, or because he got to play Angry Birds, or if it's because I fixed a toy. He told me he's Happy.
