Rain, rain, go away!

I know that I'm not the only one who is suffering from a week of constant rain.  In fact, I am very fortunate to not have any flooding or water damage.  I'm just a SAHM who has been cooped up with my Mini's for the week.  I feel like there is no good way for them to be physical and use up some energy.  By the time they get home from school, it's almost dinner time.  Then they are super hyper and very squeally and it gets old very quickly.

Yesterday they were sent home from school early due to the excessive rain and flooding.  This morning I got the phone call at 5:30 that we had a 2  hour delay.  Then, at 7:00 the call came that school was closed for the day.  For rain.  It's crazy the amount of rain we have gotten over this past week.  We live near Hershey Park and the pictures that are floating around on the net are just mind boggling.  Again, I am really thankful that the extent of my discomfort is interrupted plans and the kiddos unspent energy.

Today, I remembered that the local My Gym has Drop N Dash at 2.  The kids are usually in school at the time it is offered. But not today.  So, instead of staring at each other again or being lazy and watching TV all day, I got my kiddos to My Gym.  They got to spend an hour and a half running around, climbing, jumping and just being physical.  I got to meet a friend for some local shopping and just enjoy being outside of the house.  A total Win-Win situation.

I'm wondering how many areas have been affected by all this rain.  I am in Central Pennsylvania.  What do you do with your kids on a day that they have off from school?
