[Editor's Note: I've never understood why people complain about the break that teachers get in the summer. Putting up with the world's children five days a week for 180 days is not my idea of a cup of tea. Recently, Halala Mama wrote about the reasons that teachers need a vacation. Because sometimes a little boy needs a nap on a mama who is not mentally planning lessons, grading papers, or balancing a computer on her knees.
Well that and the fact that even Steven King described teaching in this way…”I liked my colleagues and I loved the kids… but by most Fridays I felt as if I’d spent the week with jumper cables attached to my brain.”
