Journalist Rebekah Denn (eatallaboutit.com) wakes up thinking about breakfast and goes to bed remembering dinner. She is a regular contributor to various publications, including The Seattle Times and Sunset magazine, is the winner of two James Beard Awards, and was a editorial contributor to Modernist Cuisine, "the most astonishing cookbook of our time." She is the former food editor of the former Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper, and still quite likes the term "ink-stained wretch" even though she is not at all wretched. One of the best presents she ever got -- besides a KitchenAid -- was a handwritten journal of her mom's family recipes, and she loves it that her son learned to read via restaurant menus and Mollie Katzen cookbooks.
