When you're a food blogger, all your recipes are your babies and nobody -- Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner, yes, that's a nod to the loss of Patrick Swayze in 2009. Still, come the end of the year, we're compelled to pick through the list to select our best recipes of the year, some times by choosing our own favorites, other times by checking the stats for the most popular recipes of the year, still other times by finding a more creative route! So here they are, the best recipes of the year, the favorite recipes, the top recipes, the best of our best in 2009.

(Food bloggers -- I'm headed to snow and cold for New Years so finished this list about noon on New Years Eve day. Please accept my apologies if I missed yours -- and please please do add your own Best Recipes of 2009 to the comments!)

Our Best Recipes!

The Purple Foodie ~ Best of 2009 - Savory

The Perfect Pantry ~ The Perfect Pantry's Top Ten Recipes of 2009
"Here are my top ten recipes from 2009 (all with a printer-friendly version). Some I made for the first time this year, others are old favorites. Many are -- or could be, with some ingredient substitutions -- vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free. They're not listed in any order; as with children, it's impossible to choose one over the others. I hope you enjoy them. "

Healthy.Delicious. ~ "... here’s a roundup of some of the most crave-worthy recipes that have appeared on Healthy.Delicious. in 2009. This list certainly doesn’t represent all of my favorites ... but they are some of the healthier recipes that I keep going back to and that you can realistically make during this time of the year."

Two Peas and Their Pod ~ Favorite Recipes of 2009
"I always enjoy looking back-we had a busy year filled with fun, laughs, travels, work, hard times, the best of times, and of course tasty food:) We did more than our fair share of cooking and baking. Here are a few of our favorite recipes from 2009."

Picky Cook ~ My Favorite Recipes of 2009
".here are 16 of my favorite recipes from 2009. i am pretty sure i could have easily chosen them all, but here are the top recipes in my book."

Diana Takes a Bite ~ My Favorite Recipes of 2009
"Overall, it was a fun year, and as I look back over my favorite recipes of 2009 – the recipes I found myself craving again and again – I can’t wait to continue with my goal in 2010."

Kara's Kitchen Creations ~ Some of My Favorites from 2009
"I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite recipes from the past year. It sounded like a great idea, I just had no idea how hard it would be to choose!!! Finally I decided to just pick one recipe from each month."

Anne's Food ~ My Favorites from 2009 - Savory
"I went through this year's posts, and picked my absolute favorite recipes. It was really hard to pick just five so... I didn't. After all, the more the merrier! These recipes are all really, really awesome. I promise!"

Kalyn's Kitchen ~ Top Ten Best Recipes of 2009

Carrots 'N' Cake ~ Favorite Recipes of 2009
"Here’s just a sampling of my favorite recipes– not surprisingly, most of them are for desserts!"

Love and Olive Oil ~ A Look Back at the Best of 2009
"I did want to take a quick look back at what I consider the best recipes and posts of 2009. My favorites. The ones, when looking back through the archives, brought a smile to my face or a growl in my belly. The meals that have become memories."

This was our first year at it - I think we have some keepers here ( http://www.fabfrugalfood.com/uncategorized/our-ten... ), if I do say so myself! (We'll be adding a celebratory giveaway with an AMAZING prize in a few days, too.)

It looks like if I want to leave a comment with a link, I have to use Opera. Neither Firefox nor Safari work. Hmm, nope, not even Opera allows me to leave an embedded link.

My favourite hands-down recipe for 2009 is Filipino Spicy Deep Fried Squid or Cuttlefish. http://food.laurieashton.com/2009/05/filipino-deep... ( http://food.laurieashton.com/2009/05/filipino-deep... ) Everyone who's had it, including a nearly-3 year old who previously hated cuttlefish, loved this dish and ate it like it was the most addictive thing ever. Seriously good. :)

Another all-time favourite is Pol Sambol, an absolutely delightful coconut-based condiment of sorts. http://food.laurieashton.com/2009/05/sri-lankan-po...

Other favourites of 2009 include Beet and Feta Cheese Pizza (http://food.laurieashton.com/2009/10/beet-feta-che..., Wild Yeast Challah Bread (http://food.laurieashton.com/2009/07/sourdough-cha..., and Thebu Sambol (http://food.laurieashton.com/2009/10/eating-ginger...

What happens when you click the link icon? A popup window should open that allows you to add the link. Maybe you have your settings blocking the popup window?

If you know HTML, you can click input format and select full html and then you can type the code for links yourself in the comment box.

Alanna,

Looking forward to checking out all the roundups. Thanks. sorry I missed the deadline, but your call for roundups prompted me to create 2 of my own. Thanks for the invite to share them, too.

The first is what I learned and how my blog grew this year -- vision, voice and better photos. Much of that was due to BlogHerFood 09.  http://clickblogappetit.blogspot.com/2009/12/2009-...

The second post is a list of my favorite recipes for each month and my fav for the year -- It was fun to revisit them.  Here's the link http://clickblogappetit.blogspot.com/2009/12/2009-... A few highlights - gremolata with root vegetable stew, tzimmes tamales, date and pumpkin pie in filo crust, lemon-egg moussaka and banh xeo (Vietnamese sizzling crepes).
