~Reese's En Croute Cookies!

~Reese's En Croute Cookies!

Doesn't it seem like everything should be a bit fancier around the holidays..Just a little bit extra special?

I figured candy should be held to the same standards, and nothing screams fancy like "En Croute"..lol!
Since cookie season is in full swing, I thought, what better way to take a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup to the next level, than to wrap it in some Puff Pastry..and turn it into a fancy cookie?!!
It's a total bonus that it ended up being one of the best cookies ever!  The flaky, crispy crust around the warm peanut butter cup is to die for.
And you couldn't ask for a more spectacular result from only 2 ingredients..yes 2!  :)
Definitely give these a try this holiday season, or anytime of year!!  :)
What you'll need for 8 cookies:
8 full sized Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
1 sheet of Puff Pastry
1 egg for egg wash
...and some sugar to sprinkle on the tops
Simply flour your board and roll out the sheet of pastry.  Cut 8-approx. 2"x2" squares.  Brush some of the egg wash around the edges of the square and place an unwrapped peanut butter cup upside down in the center.  Fold the edges over and seal up the peanut butter cup well!  Flip it over so it's right side up, brush the top with more egg wash, and sprinkle some sugar on the top.  Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy!

Let cool slightly, but serve warm with ice cold milk!!  Cheers to your fancy "en croute" candy cookies!!
Hope you love these..they are seriously amazing!!!
Happy Holidays! :)
