Sparkle (3)
a double day post. started 2/8/2012
Alright so everyone around me is dieting and working out. Hubby, the Nix, the managers at work, a hygeniest and an assistant. They are like gung ho about it and I just don't get it. Mainly because I am unsure of my limitations because of my fusion so I just do steps and ride the bike a couple times a week. Not that I've done any of that in the last five days. Instead I layed around hugging my belly and wishing the tummy troubles would go away.
So I had an excuse for a few days...I was sick. To sick to barely walk to the kitchen, although I did make two dinners, both soup. Today I went to the mall so I got some extra steps in but if I don't do my last 5 sets of stairs, I'm not even going to hit 2 miles again today. But I'm pretty wiped out from being inactive.
That's the thing about getting active. Once you get going, it gets easier. And then if you stop, it's like starting all over. So that's where I am with my activity level. It was reassuring to know that even on my sick days when I mostly laid around, the fitbit still was attached, and I still hit a mile, even on my most inactive day.
Yesterday I hit 2 miles, just easing back into the normal daily life. Today should be even better, as I'm spending the day with the babies.
Lots of changes have happened in the kitchen. Now I've got to provide either all the packaging for all the meals I prepare, or a nutiritional printout for the recipe. Nik pointed me to this cool app called Sparkpeople, and they have a recipe builder that lets you enter your ingredients and then it gives you nutritional analaysis.
I am so glad that hubby is doing this. I would far rather see him taking healthy steps and being gung ho into health and exercise, than bending his elbow. I just do my best to provide what he needs. He's doing so well, and I'm very proud of him. I have made it a challenge sort of, looking to save calories wherever I can without compromising taste. Now I read labels!
I have reluctantly lost 4.8 pounds since the fitbit arrived. Horrah. Pass the cupcakes.
edited after publishing because i'm slowly becoming one of them...haha
