Republicans Win Both Special Election Seats: What Do You Call This?

It was unthinkable that in a district where Democrats outnumbered Republicans 3 to 1, where Chuck Schumer and Geraldine Ferraro once reigned that a Republican would win. But win Bob Turner did. This rare Democratic loss in its own heartland of "the faithful" partnered with a landslide victory for the Republican in Nevada on the same night.
Will this deepen the party’s discontent with Obama? I mean, what do you call this kind of outcome?
Donald Trump robo-called this left-leaning district on behalf of Bob Turner, Republican. He told the Democrats he called that “if you do not like what’s going on in Washington, if you don’t like what’s happening with Israel, because Israel is being treated very badly and very unfairly by the Obama administration, vote for Bob Turner. Trust me, they’ll notice. Electing Bob Turner on Tuesday will be a shot heard ‘round the country.”

According to Trump, a NY vote for Turner would be “a shot heard round the country”.
Ed Koch said that the stunning win for the Republicans “proves Obama can’t take the Jewish vote for granted."
"This message will resound for a full year. It will resound into 2012," said Turner, a retired broadcasting executive turned political victor. "I only hope our voices are heard, and we can start putting things right again."
Democratic leaders tryied to explain their inexplicable losses, they blamed it on “the quirkiness of low-turnout special elections." They deny it indicates the outcome of the 2012 election, according to Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel of New York. The DCCC poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into the race. Now they are saying, according to Megyn Kelly’s paraphrase , it is not a big deal, it is going to be redistricted anyway.
John Boehner said, “Tonight New Yorkers have delivered a strong warning to the Democrats who control the levers of power in our federal government, it's time to scrap the failed `stimulus' agenda."
Chris Stirewalt, Fox Political Editor: “NY voters were sending a deliberate message to the WH, you cannot count on us.”
And what is any one saying about the Nevada result, Politico said, “Amodei crushed Democrat Kate Marshall by 21 points. With 92 percent of precincts reporting, Amodei had 57 percent of the vote to Marshall’s 36 percent.”
So what do you call it?
