Marie Bernard, aka "Riese," is the CEO, Editor-in-Chief, Co-Founder, CFO of Autostraddle.com, the world's most popular independently owned lesbian website. Since its 2009 launch, Autostraddle has built a worldwide queer community and garnered honors including two GLAAD Award nominations and the 2012 Webblog Award's "Blog of the Year." In 2012, Autostraddle held its first A-Camp, a wildly successful camp/conference hybrid for LGBT women in the San Bernardino mountains which just wrapped up its fifth session. Riese is also a freelance journalist, award-winning writer, blogger, fictionist, copywriter, video-maker and aspiring cyber-performance artist who grew up in Michigan, got wise in New York City, and now lives in Berkeley.
