The Right Fit - BlogHer 2013

This isn’t going to be one of the typical, “I went to BlogHer and all I came back with is . . .” posts. . Yes, I saw and participated on some great panels, reconnected with some old friends, met new ones and had some fun too during the official evening events.

However, something really specific was clear to me this year. I found my people! We came together because of something that we are passionate about and that is expressing ourselves within this medium.

There are some of us who do it with beautifully written words, others use visual cues to let us peek into their world, and some even use their skills as amazing deal finders to connect with others.

We bloggers come in all shapes and sizes, all types of backgrounds (some may even hold views that I might not agree with 100%), but the bottom line is that we were connected during that whirlwind three days and it felt AMAZING.

There aren’t many communities where I feel like that. I never really felt like I fit in the “corporate” community and there are times where I sometimes even feel awkward counting myself in the academic world. It was inspiring to be around so many creative, smart, and thoughtful individuals.  Thank you to all of the truly amazing people that I met this past weekend. Your energy is just what I needed to kickstart my creative juices before I continue with my studies in the fall. Thank you.
