Risk, and Why I am Saying YES to NaBloPoMo
By Elaine Griffin on March 01, 2013
“The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn and feel and change and grow and love and live.” -Leo F. Buscaglia
Well, well, here is March, and the NaBloPoMo theme of Risk is simply irresistable.
You are welcome for the earworm.
Anyway, I consider myself a risk taker, and I absolutely know I would not have any success in life if I did not take risks. Some most of the risks I take are calculated and throughouly obsessed over prior to taking them, but hey at least I take them, right?! I have learned to feel comfortable putting myself out there, and I have learned that "no" is not necessarily a bad thing.
March is also the month of my birth, and marks the beginning of Spring. A new year! A new start to the cycle of life! What better time to take a risk?
And guess what? I'm starting roller derby! Talk about a calculated risk. I've only been trying to be ready to take this risk for the last...16 months! Lordy.
So I should have a lot to talk about.
I'm ready to start this new year with my calculated risks, and what better way to keep me motivated than to read and write about risk! I'm looking forward to learning more about myself and all of you beautiful people.
Are you going to NaBloPoMo? What made you decide yes or no?
