Running, Rain or Shine
By Saltless in Seattle on January 20, 2014
This past weekend, I completed a 5K. Here's a run-down of some of the gear that allows me to run, rain or shine, in the Pacific Northwest:
Shoes: these got me through a 1/2 Marathon and many many miles on the treadmill and around the neighborhood. Indispensable.
Outer layer: this clever layer has gone through two 5Ks in one month. Here's why I love it: it's a snug fit, the thumb holes are a necessity underneath gloves (for me, under 40 degrees is definitely gloves weather), and the price is fantastic.
Capris: Under Armour has become my go-to choice (thanks sis!).
Calf support: Confession, I suffered a calf injury in the summer and have been using this style, plus doing regular calf exercises during the fall and winter, especially if exercising in cold weather.
Here's to happy, and dry-ish running.
P.s. I wasn't always this peppy about running, it took a lot of persistance and practice (a lot).
