Ryan Mathew Dunn, best known for his daredevil antics in the Jackass TV series, died Monday, June 20th, 2011 at approximately 3:30 a.m. His tragic end came just one week and two days after he celebrated his 34th birthday, when he and Zachary Hartwell, a production assistant, were in a  fatal car wreck in West Goshen Township, PA.  The Chester County Coroner reported that blunt force and thermal traumas were the official causes of death for both men. Ryan Dunn joins a list of stars that left us too soon.

Through accident reconstruction police have determined that Dunn’s Porsche 911 GT3 was traveling at a speed of at least 130 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. Officers cited speed as the  likely cause of Dunn’s loss of control over his vehicle. After jumping a guard rail and flying through an extra 40 yards of woods, the vehicle collided into a tree and was engulfed in flames. Dunn and Hartwell were dead before ambulances arrived to the scene of the crash. Being charred beyond recognition,  Dunn’s body was identified by his facial hair and tattoos. One of the police officers at the scene told reporters it was the worst wreck he had ever encountered.
