Salads are not only healthy but they can also set the stage for romance; dressed for eye-appeal is perceived sexy and delicious. So when going out to eat is not always within reach of our budget—often, too, we just want to spend a quiet evening home, alone—hubby and I will sit to discuss our evening meal, creating salads with endless possibilities, visualizing and tasting. Here are just some of the pictures of salads we’ve imagined and concocted, adding any number of possibilities for dressings. And don’t forget a nice bottle of wine!

YUM!! Anything with avacado sets my mouth watering. You are a HomeRearedChef after my own heart!

HomeRearedChef 1706 pts

beckeyp Thank you, Lovely Lady! And I, too, am a huge fan of avocados. And as a matter of fact, the house we've just moved into has a really BIG Hass avocado tree. We are presently watching and waiting for a few on the tree to ripen. I think the people that moved out from here probably took as many as they could. NO worries, though, I am patiently waiting for more. :)

Color me jealous! (that shade would be avacado green. LOL)

SunbonnetSmart.com Cooking is only required if using bacon, grilling flank steak. :)

isthisthemiddle Oh, I know! Of all seafood choices, crab is my really favorite one. But I do love seafood!

isthisthemiddle 1121 pts

The most appetizing salads I've ever seen! Yowza!

HomeRearedChef 1706 pts

isthisthemiddle I was upset with myself because I can't find the picture of one of my really ultimate salad creations: crumbled bacon, honeyed walnuts, pecans and almonds over a bed of baby greens, then dotted with creamy brie, and finally drizzled with my homemade "Lemon Curd Vinaigrette." It was beautiful and so very delicious. Sigh!

Guess I'll have to make it again soon and get another picture.

SunbonnetSmart.com 705 pts

HomeRearedChefisthisthemiddle Hey! While you're getting that photo...grab the Lemon Curd Vinaigrette recipe...don't tease us! Sounds like another "Virginia gotta-have!"

Is it lunch time yet? My peanut butter sandwich doesn't nearly look as appealing...

HomeRearedChef 1706 pts

victorias_view Speaking of peanut butter, I just found a new brand at Lucky's, it is sweetened with white chocolate. OMG! It is to die for!!

victorias_view 2163 pts moderator

HomeRearedChef Oh! That sounds too good to be true! I will have to look for it ;)

HomeRearedChef 1706 pts

victorias_view And when you find it, let me know what you think.

HomeRearedChef 1706 pts

elaineR.N. I am having a salad tonight, for sure! But I think tonight I want to add roast chicken. Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my chin. lol!

SunbonnetSmart.com 705 pts

elaineR.N. Elaine! It is Saturday morning...a little after 8am and I am feeling the same way...don't look at Virginia's posts unless your ready to start the day....

HomeRearedChef 1706 pts

SunbonnetSmart.comelaineR.N. Well, hubby and I didn't get up until 11:00 this morning, so I am just now having my coffee. What, with all the moving we've done the last 4 weeks, we deserve a little rest this weekend. :)

By the way, we've had salad twice this week for dinner. Yummers!

HomeRearedChef 1706 pts

sassymonkey Ahh! I guess you don't like crab. I LOVE crab! :)

sassymonkey 657 pts moderator

HomeRearedChef I used to work in a fish plant in the summers and crab is one of the worst things things you can work on. It kills your lungs. I associate it with being sick.

HomeRearedChef 1706 pts

sassymonkey Did you fish for them, or was it the environment you were in? Don't worry, you won't turn me off or offend me to tell me. :)

SunbonnetSmart.com 705 pts

sassymonkeyHomeRearedChef Yes! From my years at Phillips Crab House, I know you can also get a skin condition called "Crab Fever."

HomeRearedChef 1706 pts

SunbonnetSmart.comsassymonkey Yikes! Poor people!! But I still LOVE crab. Sigh!
