Okay Ladies, I am officially confused.
To start off, I must explain that I am neither Republican nor Democrat. Truth be known, I am not pleased with either presidential candidate at the moment. The VP nominations have not helped.
That being said - I am royally confused. Anyone watch the debate between the two Vice President nominees last week? I did, and I thought that they both did a great job. I do not understand why there is such an extreme amount of criticism of Sarah Palin. I doubt anyone would speak of Hillary Clinton in this manner.
Where are all of the women’s activitists? Where are all of the women who fully supported Hillary with anticipation? Why are we not supporting a fellow sister who is anxiously trying to further the role of women and break through that glass ceiling?
I do not understand why is it that we can question Palin’s ability to be Vice President of the United States and a mother at the same time. I never heard anyone ask Hillary Clinton this question. This is the question that bothers me. No one asked Hillary this question, and no one has asked Biden if he could be a father and VP at the same time.
Isn’t this the same battle we started fighting centuries ago? The battle that fought for our basics rights… rights that were not granted because of our gender? Are we criticizing Sarah Palin based upon her gender?
Please help me see... as far as I know, Palin and Clinton both have vaginas. Is there a difference between the two?
Like I mentioned earlier, I am not thrilled with the presidential nominees. I simply do not understand why the subordinating messages about Palin's motherhood is necessary.
