Just print this downloadable coupon from Whole Foods (click this post's title for the live link) for $5 off a purchase of $25 from Whole Food, one purchase a day per customer through October 22.

How did I learn about Whole Foods' offer? I 'follow' Whole Foods on Twitter. You can, too!

DISCLOSURE: For anyone who's wondering, neither BlogHer nor I have a relationship with Whole Foods (except me, as a regular occasional customer) and get no compensation from Whole Foods to share this information. But for anyone in the BlogHerSphere who's interested in ways to save money on groceries, if you already shop at Whole Foods, this is a great offer.

whole food or whole paycheck?

Thanks for the coupon!

But i still don't think the coupon is gonna allevate the pain of grocery-shopping at whole food. To make healthy and sustainble living possible, we need to support more local produce stores. We don't need fancy shopping environment or waxed apples to go green and healthy, especially in this kind of economy. Whole Food is a very disappointing attempt of healthy living and green products.

Might Use It for A Treat But No Longer Feel
Welcomed At WF/WP

I haven't been in WF/WP in almost six months. It was not intentional that I stayed away it was that it was too easy to have maybe six items that rang up $20-$30 or more.

I shop frugal no matter where I go but WF/WP is tough. I love fresh baked bread $3.5 to $4.

There is a Kombucha drink that I use when I'm sick $4.

I have learned to stay far away from the olive case. Assorted veggies $5 dollars if they aren't on clearance.

The meat of the day that will barely make it into two meals $6 to $8 if I'm lucky.

Blood Orange flavored sorbet. Not exactly healthy but I like the taste of Blood Orange juice. $4.5 to $5.

Any other store I walk out with 10 items. And then to be humbled at check out. Other people paying $250 to $300 for groceries. And not all of them are buying organic or what could be called remotely healthy.

Folks around my way like Trader Joe's better. TJs give you a sporting chance.

Whole paycheck

Whole paycheck is right. I have to agree with you on that. But for the few items that I buy there two or three times a month it is so worth it. I cannot find rice milk at my local grocery store. Or organic raw honey, or toxic and hormone free eggs or chicken ! I want my little girls to be little girls as long as possible. They have enough female issues to keep them busy until natural puberty kicks in thank you very much ! I appreciate the coupon. Any little bit goes a long way.

Perfect timing!

I agree Whole Foods can be pricy, but I'm planning an excursion for some special ingredients to make these cookies from 101 Cookbooks:

And for tempeh for this:

I suspect I may start going there semi-regularly for specific ingredients.

Great article

I agree that it is ridiculously expensive to eat healthy. I am all for saving money but I think a couple coupons at WalMart would leave more in the bank than $5 off @ Whole Foods. But, if you have the money to spend there - GO FOR IT! I would love to be able to shop there exclusively!

Here is a GREAT article about saving money
