Ask yourself, “Where can I cut back?” If you are reluctant to make adjustments in your holiday routines, remember that the physical and emotional toll of overextending yourself for Christmas is not worth it.
The first step in looking at activities is to release the idea that
1) the holidays will be perfect. (Would they be even if you worked 24/7?)
2) you need to do everything yourself.
If you have your children and spouse take some responsibilities (like decorating) expect that things will not turn out the way they would if you did them yourself. Let that be okay. If it matters that much to you, you need to ask yourself why, and who you are doing it for.
