BlogHer has the honor of interviewing Carly Fiorina this Friday, when I'll sit down to record a podcast with the former CEO/Chair of Hewlett Packard, the first woman to lead a Fortune 20 company and, as of March 8, leading surrogate and fundraising chair for presumptive GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).
Here's a recent YouTube video recorded by techRepublican where Ms. Fiorina talks about her support of John McCain's presidency, what her candidate needs to win, and why being listed by Fortune as the most powerful woman in business for six years in a row is a little like...playing golf:
Join us! I invite you to tell me what you would like me to ask Carly Fiorina on your behalf. Please leave your question in the comments and be sure to include your name and blog as you would like me to attribute your question. The interview will be available soon afterwards as a podcast here at BlogHer.com.
Thanks in advance for posting your questions before 5pm PST Thursday, May 8. I look forward to reading them.

Good to see there is someone here at BlogHer...
By: Jennifer Satterwhite Posted: 1 week 4 days ago...who is covering the other side of the election as well. I like to see that there really is balance on a non-partisan site such as this.
Thanks for sharing this and opening it up to questions so all voices can be heard.
That is what I am loving most about this election. Hearing from all sides. That is what makes this entire election process not only exciting but educational!
Looking forward to this interview!

I would love it if you could
By: Dana J. Tuszke Posted: 1 week 4 days agoI would love it if you could ask Ms. Fiorina how she feels about John McCain's statement that women "just need more training and education." McCain stated that he opposed the Senate bill that tried to obtain equal pay for women because he believes it would lead to more lawsuits. Ms. Fiorina is a successful businesswoman, so I'm curious to find out what she thinks about this issue.
Thanks!
Dana, can you point me to this quote by John McCain?
By: Lisa Stone Posted: 1 week 3 days agoI'd love to have a frame of reference, thanks!

I agree ...
By: PunditMom Posted: 1 week 4 days ago... with Dana. I want to hear her answer to that question. Also, I want to know why McCain opposed increased funding for SCHIP and what he will do to "fix" No Child Left Behind and really make our schools better.

Fixing No Child Left Behind
By: Lisa Stone Posted: 1 week 3 days agoPunditMom, thanks for the questions! I will ask why Sen. McCain opposed increased funding for SCHIP, definitely. Would love a more specific question from you about No Child Left Behind -- what do you think needs fixing about that program? Funding, management, scope/vision, all of the above? Thanks!

I want to know how her feelings on gender have evolved
By: Elisa Camahort Posted: 1 week 4 days agoFair or not, Ms. Fiorina used to be perceived as one of those businesswomen who tried to minimize talking about her gender and the impact, positive or negative, it may have had on her career.
Since leaving HP it seems she has opened up a bit more about that, so I'm curious whether that reflects a change of mind, or simply a change of willingness to discuss?

I want to know what she really thinks about the gas tax holiday
By: Morra Aarons Posted: 1 week 4 days agoAs a businesswoman, does she think it's good medicine for the American people, or a marketing ploy?
If she were advising McCain on America, Inc. would she suggest a summertime gas holiday or does she have other suggestions about how to survive crazy gas prices while being smart about energy?
"good medicine for the American people, or a marketing ploy?"
By: Lisa Stone Posted: 1 week 3 days agoTerrific question about the gas tax holiday, thank you Morra!

Fundraiser for the presumptive leader of a party of warmongerers
By: Koan Posted: 1 week 3 days agoI'd ask her how *that's* working out for her.
Oh wait, I keep forgetting, this isn't my election.
Right-wingers - guaranteed to bring out the bitter in me.
A couple of questions I can extract here...
By: Lisa Stone Posted: 1 week 3 days agoHow will John McCain's leadership in Afghanistan and Iraq differ from the current Administration's?
One from my email in-box, from CE Snigdha Sen:
How is the Republican leadership going to reconcile economic globalization with war?
What other questions (non-snarky ones) would you all like me to ask about a McCain Administration war policy?

Yes, that snark of mine wasn't really too helpful!
By: Koan Posted: 1 week 3 days agoSome backstory - I just spent the weekend in the Bay Area, really talking about the healthcare situation in the US, and how it differs from the healthcare situation in the UK. Really seeing the pain and terror of the lack of universal healthcare, in the US, from the perspective of people who have to live with the consequences of the healthcare inequities that exist. Hearing the stories of how coverage with one insurer can render an individual, effectively, unable to move home to be with their family, because their insurer doesn't operate in other states, and other insurers won't provide continuation of cover.
And then thinking about the obscene amounts of money that have been poured into certain militaristic operations. And how even a fraction of that money could have made a substantial difference in the quality of lives of US citizens, like my friends and their families.
So I guess a less snarky question from me - other than the ones you've already mooted, which I'd love to hear her answers to - would be for her to justify John McCain's proposed level of investment in the miltary operations in those countries, against the uses to which that money could be put, domestically on healthcare, and internationally on aid and development.
(And I promise I'll try not to be so bitter, next time!)
Thanks for this question Koan

Huge economic issues
By: Virginia DeBolt Posted: 1 week 3 days agoWe have such huge economic issues this year. A war being run on deficit spending, the mortgage crisis, a looming recession, millions of uninsured Americans, rising prices. What specific policies does she see John McCain supporting that she, as a business woman, thinks are the solution to these economic problems?

Tax issues!
By: rocksinmydryer Posted: 1 week 2 days agoI'm a small business owner married to another small business owner. And this year, despite the best efforts of our accountant, we were absolutely CRUSHED by our tax burden. It is extremely frustrating to work so hard and feel like our own government is penalizing us for our productivity. I thought Huckabee's flat tax ideas looked appealing. What ideas does McCain have for lowering our tax burden and encouraging productivity?
And frankly, I'm eager to hear McCain (hopefully) call Obama to the mat to find out exactly, specifically how he (Obama) plans to pay for his sweeping ideas.

Home School and education
By: kerrywmson Posted: 1 week 2 days agoAs a home educating mom and McCain supporter, I'd like to hear his response to the recent kerfuffle in California about homeschooling. I'd also like for him to share with us his thoughts about educational freedom and home schooling.
Basically, "Mr. McCain, how will you support a parent's rights to determine a child's education? And specifically, do you support homeschooling as a valid educational choice that should be free from excessive government intrusion? What would you consider excessive government intrusion? What would you consider appropriate government regulation?"
Thank you for giving us a chance to ask our questions!

What does Sen. McCain think about a parent's right to homeschool
