When Their Relationship Changes Who Do You Unfriend?

It's not a new question but now comes with added digital considerations. When a couple breaks up or BFFs have a falling out or a family member becomes estranged from a relative do you stay friends with one or both of the people involved? Recently a dear friend whom I had lost touch with for a few years found me on Facebook. She and her husband are my relationship idols. If I were ever to get married theirs was the guide for the relationship I would want to have. Or rather at least the outward appearance of their relationship appealed because certainly I could never know their truth. ...more

Commitment Phobes: Do You Have A JB In Your Life?

An author friend of mine Barbora Knobova who wrote Tales For Delicious Girls sent this article I wanted to share with everyone.  There are so many men (and women!) who are afraid of commitment.  I hope this article sheds some light on the topic.  :)...more

Adventures on Match.com

Last year, after the Rebound Guy and I called it quits, my girlfriends and I had dinner at this cute, quaint Italian restaurant in Broad Ripple. After we had all deconstructed every relationship under the sun, the girls suggested I create a profile on an online dating site….namely Match.com. Appalled, I announced….”I do not have trouble meeting men…” to which they responded…. “WHO??...more

How Do I Leave Him?

I met my current boyfriend in the end of 2006. I left him a little over a year later because he was abusing very serious perscription (but not perscribed to him) drugs, and because I didn't feel like he was good enough for me. I'm a grad student who's got a 3.8 GPA, I teach piano lessons, and basically I've got my life together. I'm a stong female and I'm going to go far in this world. My boyfriend is continues to claim that he will put himself into a community college. He can't hold a job. He's in debt up to his eyeballs. He has a serious criminal record....more

Is it REALLY cheating?

Don’t shoot the messenger…I’m simply asking a question. A blog about cheating… Okay, so lately we’ve been hearing a lot about cheating male celebrities and the horrific outcomes. Mark Sanford faced impeachment. Tiger Woods is losing endorsements. John Edwards and David Letterman faced horrible embarrassment. And Steve McNair paid the ultimate price. And let me be clear: I’m SURE there are plenty of women that have cheated or are cheating as well, but for some reason, the men are making the headlines for it. ...more

Calling Out All Cougars!

Today’s Blog Post was sort of like a joint effort between myself and the yummy mummies at the local Second Cup Cafe. It all started with my girlfriend, who met me for a coffee after school drop off. “What are you writing about today?” she asked. “Not quite sure. Was thinking about Cougars. What do you think?” I replied. In no time, we had about 5 women there, all throwing ideas my way, me typing as quickly as I could. I know why I never go to that particular Cafe to write. It’s VERY distracting. But FUN!...more

Empires Can't Be Run Alone

He pushed me up against the tiled wall under the hot stream of water. I could see his face in the pale light of the moon coming in through the window over us. He kissed me and held me, wet and hot, against his chest. “When I look at you, you’re still so new to me,” he whispered in the silver light. “But when I close my eyes to kiss you, I recognize you.” “It’s because we’re the same city,” I said. I don't really know you, but my essence recognizes you, Tristan. ...more
