"Got Milf?" You should! This is a link to the video of my performance of my "Mommalogue" (I made up that word...so proud of it), which I performed for "Expressing Motherhood" here in LA last month.Send this video to your girlfriends, sisters, aunts (yes...maybe even your own mother) and let them know it's time for Milf's EVERYWHERE to stand up and be counted!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYJ8PL6OxxI(F.Y.I., there is no inappropriate material contained on the video - but the language is a little "sassy")....more
Sometimes, those little television shows stacked up in my DVR queue actually teach me a life lesson. To those people who say TV fries the brain, well, with all due respect – you are wrong. Big time. Case in point: Maya’s wedding scene on Private Practice. Season 3, Episode 15. Sam, Maya’s father, makes this toast at the reception: ...more
When you are an expat, friendship is tricky. When you move around a lot, local friends are a rare commodity. Currently, my closest friends live in New York, Oslo and Bern (soon to move back to Florida)....more
Do you have a prayer request? A special need? Well, I spent all night placing a live webcam to Lourdes, France on my website, including a little mailbox to their prayer request email. All kinds of weird computer problems kept cropping up, and I kept offering them up as a prayer, which did help to keep me from being annoyed. Then...
This morning I got an email from a friend who told me that today is OUR LADY OF LOURDES FEAST DAY! Wow. I had no idea! That is just so cool...
I have been waiting for this for months and now that it's finally here....I'm completely depressed. I saw a whole new world opening up to me with the ending of my full-time position. I haven't received as much feedback as I have been hoping for considering most of my forum discussions usually take off right away....more
Many of us live in diverse communities where we interact with a culturally diverse group of people, but because I work in the downtown core in a large, metropolitan city, I understand that for some their racial tolerance has a short expiry date, ending at 5pm on Friday afternoons. But in this day and age, I'm of the opinion that anyone who has issues with their children dating or marrying across racial lines should have raised them in a forest or under a rock.

I met R. in Israel during the summer of 1998. I was doing research for my dissertation; she was studying Hebrew just for fun. From there, she planned to go to Bali.
Many of us remember the day we first ran across Our Bodies, Ourselves, as something of a revelation; perhaps you even picked up the more recent edition of the same book focused on menopause. But have you wished your voice was in there too?...more
