If you love fashion but are on a tight budget, there may be a new solution for you! You may follow hundreds of fashion bloggers on Google Reader or Bloglovin' and lust over the outfits they wear, but here's the thing: Many of your favorite bloggers sell items from their closets they don't want anymore in a variety of ways.
One of my favorite fashion bloggers, Cara McCleay, sells items from her closet straight from her blog, a fashion love affair. In fact, I ordered a super cute Ark & Co dress from her that I received in the mail today!

Another one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Annabelle Fleur of Viva Luxury, introduced me to Threadflip.
Threadflip is a "social shopping experience" integrated with Facebook designed to be more personal than ebay or a consignment store. The site is a great way to shop fashion blogger's closets and your friend's closets! There are some great finds and prices on items like vintage Dior.

A post recently appeared in the Independent Fashion Bloggers entitled "5 Startups that Could Change the Way You Shop" citing the trend towards bloggers managing their own e-commerce sites, and new sites that are launching designed for fashion bloggers to share their closets. According to IFB, the owner of one such site, Material Wrld, and her business partner “were tired of getting ripped off by consignment and thrift stores. [We] looked into options to sell online but felt that eBay was inconvenient and not so pretty. [We] loved Etsy but wanted to sell recent fashion that’s not vintage or handmade.” IFB lists 4 other sites to watch:
99 Dresses: a site where you can upload your unwanted fashion then browse and buy a look to wear that you then resell. The site uses a unique system where you earn “buttons” for uploading your dresses and then can spend those buttons on new dresses.
HipSwap: a site that lets you shop closets of people locally.
PoshMark: an iPhone app that lets you sell clothes from your closet and shop from your phone.
Some fashion bloggers still sell clothes on eBay, like my fellow NC blogger, Elspeth Crawford of elle bow room. You can shop her closet here.
How do you feel about buying clothes from fashion bloggers on the internet? Do you prefer brick-and-mortar shopping? I want to know!
