Should I Become a Yoga Instructor?

Featured Member Post

I am strongly considering getting my Yoga teacher certification. I absolutely LOVE going to Yoga classes every chance I get. I have a book about Yoga teachers and their experiences with it. Many of them were in college and universities prior to becoming Yoga teachers.

My back is severely compromised. I was in an accident (not my fault) in 2009. I now have six disc bulges/herniations and narrowed neuroforamens to boot. Yoga has been a way to help alleviate some of that severe chronic pain. And, the peace of mind I get in that hour of practice really helps my stress levels.

So, my question is: Should I take the 200-hour training class? It starts in January and goes for three months. Many of the classes are between four and eight hours a day. With a one-year-old at home, I wonder how I am going to find the time to do it without paying an arm and a leg for a babysitter. Hubby works 11-12 hours a day, so he really isn't an option for staying home with her that often.

I think it would transform my life if I did do this; plus, I could give people private lessons at their homes and make some extra money if a gym signs me on to teach some classes.
