Sorry, I hate to be a party pooper for all those that love Halloween. I understand, I used to love it also. But given the experiences God has allowed in my life I can't see it as harmless fun any longer. http://wp.me/p1N2Bf-1O

We've been counting down! Nobody does Halloween quite like "Mr Wave at the Bus." Here's our latest blog post with photos: http://waveatthebus.blogspot.com/2011/10/halloween...

I had such cute ideas a couple of weeks ago but I've lost my decorating motivation under a giant pile of laundry. I hope I can find it again. I LOVE Halloween.

I love, love, love Halloween! It is second only to Christmas in our intensity for decorating, baking, paper crafting and party preparations. I hope to get to decorating the house this weekend, but there is a whole month ahead of us for fun stuff to do. A new project every day!

When the kids were little, I would be busy making costumes by now. However, now my youngest (who is too big to go trick or treating unless they are helping out with friends little kids) always dress up as "army guys" in the same camo they wear when they go airsofting...not too exciting.

One of our favorite things to do (although we will be so over it when we get to the end of the double or triple batch of sugar cookie dough:) is to decorate shaped sugar cookies. We have so much fun doing it and then sharing with friends, neighbors and a bake sale or two. You can catch a glimpse here... http://justhelen.typepad.com/.a/6a0120a51dfdbf970b... and here...

Here are some breadsticks that I made. I got the idea from the Rhodes Frozen BakeNServe rolls...they were fun and yummy!

Anyway, so many ideas, so little time until Halloween! Love it!

My favorite memory was trick or treating in the neighborhood I grew up in. it was the kind of neighborhood that everyone knew everyone, which meant we couldn't be naughty. We still had fun though. Now that I am married I love to decorate every inch of my house. I also love to find new items to add to my collect. I found a new website. upinthenight.net. it has fabulous decorations for Halloween, Christmas and everything else!

I get excited for Halloween by putting up my 'pumpkin lights"....orange and black with little plastic pumpkins on them. I have been stringing them up on my front porch for years! My sons are now teenagers but they still ask "when are the pumpkin lights going up"?

I's so excited for Halloween this year. My hubby and I are celebrating buying our first home this week, and will be in a great neighborhood for trick-or-treating. My daughter is almost 2, so I think she will actually enjoy it too this year!

I love Halloween and look forward to the fall and all the festivities every year. My favorite Halloween memory was from 2009 when my then 3 yr. old son, who was severely speech delayed said the words; “Happy Halloween!” clear as a bell. This was a huge moment and ended up in a blog post, of course! http://www.survivethemayhem.com/2009/11/scary.html I also wrote that same year about why I don’t believe Halloween necessarily needs to be “of the devil” as some feel. http://www.survivethemayhem.com/2009/10/halloween-...

Halloween has never been a big holiday for me, but since ive had a baby (who is almost 5 months) its mnore exciting! Especially cause we can dress her up (ladybug) and just have fun with our firiends who have kids too! So this may be a start of a good thing on halloween...im excited! As for the decor, I dont really put anything up...but I looove decorating in fall theme! Tai Pan has great decor : )

I have a Halloween problem, but it is surely not as, um, grave as the one of the poster before me. My little boy has always disliked dressing up---isn't that interesting? He always says "I just want to be ME!" I'm sort of proud of that. But this year, he's changed his mind and wants to be a big rig. I'm extremely UN-clever with anything crafty, and I need some help--a costume 'recipe' for a big rig! Thanks!

Melanie M. Bianchi i'm not sure how to make a big rig but I found this link and thought it might help you with some ideas. http://familyfun.go.com/halloween/halloween-kids-c...

I am not excited for Hallowe'en and in fact I dread it. As a Christian we are commanded to avoid everything to DO with the occult and this incl. Hallowe'en(as well as fortune telling, palm reading, Ouija boards, seances, horoscopes, etc.) which is basically like celebrating Satan's birthday and glorifying the occult; it is the witches biggest holiday! I can't wait until it's OVER and am sick of seeing about it everywhere I go! Satan truly does rule the earth and is very crafty at drawing people unwittingly to him, such as by celebrating Hallowe'en.

I bought costumes for three of the kids because I had the extra amazon credit - and they are most certainly NOT allowed to changed their minds.

making costume soon, son wants to be a scarecrow again, or possibly the Cowardly Lion from Wizard of Oz. We'll see, though. He'll change his mind a few times. Might decorate this next week to get in the mood!
