Claire made this amazing little creature today after church.
What are some of your favorite homemade treasures?

(PS...She used her own hair for the "Oxopegahorse's" tail and mane.)

My oldest made this Buzz Lightyear that knocked my socks off! Before Christmas he wouldn't draw or cut. Now he's drawing things that are so detailed. I love watching their light switch turn on!
His Buzz is here: http://theapels.blogspot.com/2011/03/wordless-wedn...
My best friend made me a pillow this Christmas that I love. She chose the wool and silk, sewed it, stuffed it and felted it (her new-found talent) with swirls that remind me of her in colors that I love. I look at it and all the other things she's made me and think of how sweet she is and how much I love her.

I have no children of my own so my treasures must come from my own two hands and change often. Right now my favorite home made treasure is the fabric wall panel above my sofa. I recently saw an amazing piece of art work that had me drooling and then cringing when I looked at the price tag. But joy of joys I was able to create a similar panel of my own by stretching a gorgeous fabric over an old canvas. It makes me smile. A lot!

This year I've decided after church we have a "church box" full of fun Sunday activities, coloring, Primary "like" goodies.......keep my kids more inclined to understand what Sunday is all about and keep the other worldly noise out! :)
Anything that my daughter makes for me I treasure. I especially love her paintings - they are so creative. I also love anything that one of my siblings made for me when we were kids. I have a bowl my sister made in pottery class for me, and you can tell how hard she worked on it.
I got this amazing Salamander Box a few years ago from my sister. I absolutely love it! I use it for activities in my classroom with writing. Normally, it doesn't have the sparkles around it, only when I'm working my magic...

Made can phones for the boys. You know the kind...two tin cans with a string connecting the two? They are quite popular. Would love to post a picture to brag but I can't seem to make it work.

My daughter is 15 months old and she and I both made a paper bag reindeer and her tiny hands were traced and cut out on paper for the antlers. That is my favorite handmade thing from her. My other is the first quilt I am creating, so exciting!
