Nie, I'm with you, my family definitely make me lucky. My husband has been away in China for 10 days, and I feel very lucky to get to fall asleep with him tonight as opposed to lying there wishing he wasn't so far away, on the other side of the world, like I've done the past 10 nights. I feel lucky for my two sweet daughters and to have time together as a family this weekend.
This is why I feel lucky:

I feel very privileged and lucky when I wake up in the morning and look out at the ever changing, stunning views from my home. But it would mean a thing if I wasn´t lucky enough to share it with my grumpy, kind and loving hubby and our two sloppy, sweet and caring teenage boys...
Call it Destiny or Divine interference or pure luck, but I think it was pretty fantastic that despite coming from different countries my darling and I "accidentally" bumped into each others three times over a period of seven years, before we finally decided to stay together.

i feel lucky for having a great family who raised me well and for my best friend for 8 years, through thick and thin. life would be a lot more different without him.

I'm BLESSED! It's not by chance or some luck of the draw that I was adopted into a loving family, that I have a wonderful husband, 6 great children, a roof over my head and food to eat, and to top it all off...wonderful, supportive friends. All these things give me joy.

Life isn't always easy but I have to acknowledge a divine hand in my life. I am so grateful to know things of an eternal nature...who I am, where I came from and where I'm going. I'm grateful for the challenges as well as the quiet, calm, easy times if life. But knowing that I have a loving Heavenly Father in the midst of all the craziness and sadness in the world, knowing that He knows me by name and understands my joy as well as my pain, knowing that we can be together as an eternal family...this is how I feel BLESSED!

Stephanie.... LOVE your blog... recently "found" it and look forward to it daily (that's one think that makes me lucky/happy!)

The main things that make me lucky/happy are, of course, my wonderful husband of 18+ years, our 2 great kids, and most of all God's overwhelming, overflowing love that is so HUGE we can't even began to grasp it.
Last, but not least I'm happy/lucky because of the incredible beauty God gave us throughout creation - what a masterpiece!

Blessings to you and your beautiful family!
-Tracey

Hi Nienie!

I love that you have kids with different hair colors! :)
I would have to say my luck started when I married my "Mr. Barlow" at the Salt Lake Temple in Dec. 2000. With his help (wink :)I have 4 awesome babies that are everything to me. Belle is 9, Hannah is 6, Isaac is 2 and Sam is 4 months old. I also have to say that I am pretty lucky to have the Gospel in my life. Because of my Faith I have a better life and when I have hard times it helps me go through them. Look how lucky I am!!

Stephanie,
I feel like one of the things that really stands out as a bit of fortunate luck in my life is knowing that I am LOVED~
I was raised by great parents, have wonderful siblings and after a LONG wait.. I married a man who loves me, and WE made kids that love us. Sometimes I look around and wonder how I got SO lucky! So many people are not able to see the love other have for them~ Not me, I have Love given to me in such a noticeable way.
Before I married my husband there were years of me Loving a boy who did not love me back :(. Then when I met and married my hubby (11 years ago) and he would/will tell any and every one how he felt about me..I know, I am LUCKY!

There are a myriad of circumstances that make me lucky. But when I consider how close I came to never building this life with my husband, to never having these children, I am humbled by how lucky I got.

My meeting him was based on a decision to pull a brochure to a college, that I had already thrown away, out of the trash. As I was throwing it out, an aspect of the college caught my eye. I thought about it for half the day and decided the school was worth applying to. So, I went and fished it out of the trash. That's how I ended up at the college where I met my husband.

This story is about the other time I came close to never building this life with him. It's about forgiveness:

It's an oldie, but captures just how lucky I feel. Thanks for doing this, NieNie, I enjoy the bloghop and looking at everyone else's stories. :)
