After being faithful daily walkers all last year with no results, my husband and I have hired a personal trainer. At least 30 minutes on the treadmill, varying the incline and speed every two minutes and lots of weight training and a little yoga here and there. Our trainer adds new and more difficult things each week. My husband has lost about 20 lbs. since we started and I have only lost 4. Our trainer said that he would lose faster but this is crazy. We even cut out Diet Coke and bread. I think we are eating about the same things. No junk! I have lost inches in my hips and I feel a lot stronger. Have you ever tried to hold your pants up when your hips are smaller than your waist. I'm now shaped like an ice cream cone. I may need to buy suspenders. I will be so happy when the workouts finally reach my waistline.

I didn't start the year off with any resolutions, but now I've found myself feeling ugly so I've started doing Power 90 (kind of like P90X but not nearly as intense). So far, a good workout but I'm already thinking about switching to something else.

I'm a mom to two boys and step mom to a fantastic girl - plus I'm recovering from breast cancer. So I have to strengthen my bones and lose bodyfat if I want to lower my chances of recurrence. So my resolution was easy to make.

I'm walking lots and doing weights, and since Christmas I've been doing Walk it Out and Just Dance 2, both for Wii. I Walk it Out for over an hour every day! Can't recommend it enough. Today I'm starting back in with yoga. When I am feeling even stronger, we're going to invest in an elliptical.

I have to say, I'm so proud of everyone posting on this issue - good job!

I'm super excited to have just started pilates again after baby #3... I always get great results from it! That plus some strength training and hopefully I can squeeze in 1/2 hour on the elliptical a day. We have the Kinect too which is great for getting active as a family when you're stuck indoors!

I plan to be running around like a crazy person to try to adopt again this year. No official workout, just trying to squeeze it in whenever I can. Long sunny walks with my kids, going to the grocery store on foot rather then driving, and spending less time being "lazy" (if lazy is even possible with 4 children!) Are you working out Nie?!

You know, I should probably have come up with something, but I figured that to make a resolution (one that truly sticks), I shouldn't make just once during the year.

Not quite ready to resolve yet, but soon I will...then look out world.

Could I mention that I've decided (this week) to remind myself that tomorrow is always another day? This, in itself, is quite a workout...

Thanks.

2 years ago I decided to try Zumba...2 years later and I am addicted! (4 classes a week)

This year, I am adding Body Pump to my workout schedule (3 classes a week).

The boys also received Just Dance 2 for the Wii for Christmas, so I will add that occasionally, plus Zumba for Wii is on my wishlist...hopefully adding that soon as well.

Every weekday morning out here in Ohio, our kids attend early morning seminary (the kids affectionally call it "cemetary") from 5:50- 6:30 am! So I pull on my 3 layers of clothing and walk/run around the parking lot of the church. Whether it's raining, snowing or -8 degrees I still enjoy my overly resfreshing wake up call!!

It's a nice change from the Y, since it has many different types of yoga and beautiful atmosphere. But unless the classes are heated, I realized that I've had many very good instructors who are on par with the ones at the chichi studio. So come February, back to the Y for me.

This January I have resolved to sweat more, so I signed up for Bikram yoga. Oh yeah, I am no yogi. This is an intense place for a beginner to start, but my body is loving me for it. And for the other mommies out there- yay for an hour and a half of complete "me time" with no interruptions!

As a student at the University I have access to the fancy gym, but I can't really handle the smell of Axe when I'm breathing that deeply.
So instead this month I started to scale the stairs of the tallest building on campus and take them two at a time as far as I can.
Next month I'm signing up at the Y (and getting a student discount!) and starting yoga. My body will be creaking it's way to 25; I've gotta do something.

We got an xbox with kinect for Christmas. I've been doing a combination of the Your Shape Fitness Plus game and Dance Central. The workout game is pretty good. However, I do find myself occasionally screaming at the t.v. during workouts.

"My arms ARE up! THEY'RE UP, THEY'RE UP!!"

Lol! But it is a pretty good workout once you get through the entry level stuff. I can do as much or as little as I like. Although, once I start a session, I can't stop it without losing credit for all of the calories I burned. It's good motivation to keep with it to the end of the class!

Who needs to go to the gym when you've got 2 flights of stairs and about a bazillion boxes of stuff on the top floor that need to be stored in the basement. My January workout so far has been early spring cleaning! ;)

(Loved your pic NieNie! I'm going to show my hubby that app!)

We just bought an elliptical machine off of craigslist. So for the past 11 days I have been getting up before everyone and squeezing in a 30 min workout, plus some crunches for good measure. We'll see how long I can keep this up :).
That iPhone app looks really neat by the way!
