This is Definitely Another One I'd Like to
Participate In

I'm more than interested in participating in this call as well.

With our ongoing health crisis in our own family, I'd like a chance to present my question to the other side.

To copy from my other post on the thread featuring Senator Klobuchar...

I am going through a medical/mental health care crisis and our
deductibles are outrageous!  INSANE is more like it.  My husband makes
wonderful money, however we are now faced with having to chose between
our home and my continued treatment for PTSD and bulimia. We can't
continue to pay my co-pays and meet the deductible and struggle to make
our mortgage payments.  We carry no other debt than our mortgage and
it's truly frightening to be in this situation.  I'm sure we aren't the
only family in this boat.

I'm also very interested in the treatment of pre-existing conditions
(we have been "advised" that if my husband's company switches carriers
in order to reduce costs, I may not be covered, this is terrifying to
me!) and how those will be addressed.

I'd also like to know if she supports the Bacaus bill?  If that
were to pass it would potentially be financially devastating to our
family.

I am a Libertarian with strong fiscally conservative leanings.

I'm very interested in the future of health care ... especially now that I found out someone VERY close to me just had a stroke and has no health insurance. What are her options? What will this do to the family? Will she be turned away from doctors because she has no insurance?

I'm crying as I type this. I literally just found out a couple hours ago. She had no insurance because of job loss ... and no money to pay for COBRA or anything else.

THERE IS LITERALLY NO MONEY ... so how the heck can one decide to go broke buying health coverage when there are other bills ... like a mortgage? Food? Gas? Etc.?

I'm freaking out. My heart is racing. I need some answers. I need to do some research and maybe talk to others about what the future holds, and how I can help. Or at least ease some of the stress.

Stress+no money+stroke=bad news.

Please help. I hope to talk to you all about this and the future of health care. In this case, it could mean life or death for so many people.

Thanks for reading.

Heatlh Care Reform Matters To Me!

I would love to participate in this call! As a self-employed, small business owner affordable health care coverage is a MAJOR priority for me.

I would like to join the call

The Congresswoman represents the district my mother, stepfather, and brother live in in Washington State.

I'd like to ask her why the Republican health care proposals do not have stronger protections for people with pre-existing conditions, like two of her constituents: my mother, who has sleep apnea, and my stepfather, who has diabetes.

Despite the fact the GOP website promises to help people with pre-existing conditions -- despite the fact that the vast majority of Americans want to ban exclusion of people with pre-existing conditions from health insurance plans -- in general the health care reform bills that have been proposed thus far by Republicans in Congress do NOT explicity ban discrimination by health insurance companies against pre-existing conditions.

I have to miss this one ...

... because of an earlier commitment, but I would like to know from her what her stand is on pre-existing condition exclusions, especially ones that allow insurance companies to deny coverage to women due to conditions related to pregnancies, pregnancy as a pre-existing condition and domestic abuse victims.  And, if she thinks any or all of those are acceptable for insurance companies to deny on the grounds of pre-existing conditions, I'd like to know why.

I keep hearing from Republicans that they believe in health care reform, but the "solution" always seems to be maintaining the status quo. I'd like to ask the Congresswoman what "health care reform" means to her and since she doesn't believe any of the current proposals fit her bill, could she please describe her ideal bill?

I'd also like to ask her what she thinks about the survey the NRCC released this week that implies the current solution -- aka "The Obama Plan" according to this survey -- includes lottery system access to care and racially based quotas.

Thank you.
