Simplicity Parenting Carnival: October Call for Submissions

Thanks to everyone who participated in the August Simplicity Parenting Carnival! It was a great success! We hope you'll join us again, Justine atThe Lone Home Ranger and Emily at S.A.H.M. i AM, for another simplicity parenting carnival. If you’re joining us for the first time, feel free to check out the May and June carnivals as well! Please note that even though we’ve decided to host the carnival every other month for a while, we’ll be posting in both October and November so we can take December off. We’ll be back on a regular schedule in January. See here for more details.

October 2012: Holidays
The holiday season is wonderful but can be overwhelming in many respects. The pressure to consume, consume, consume can be intense regardless of what holidays you celebrate.

How do you keep things simple during the holidays? Or don’t you? How do you enjoy family traditions, community festivities, and give gifts without getting lost in the consumer chaos? Do your simple living goals and principles get thrown out the window this time of year? Do you love or dread the holiday season? Do your kids understand and enjoy celebrating a simpler version of the holidays?

Whether you go all out at the end of the year or skip the holidays all together, we’d love you to share your experience, opinions, and tips for enjoying a simpler holiday season!
