5 Things Teen Girls Should Know As They Start High School

If you could wish anything for your freshman daughter (or son) to know and believe as they start their high school (or college!) career, what would it be? Darcie at Such the Spot wrote a list of five things she wanted her freshman daughter to remember, and man, I wish someone had handed me this list when I was starting high school. And college. They're good, good lessons.
Lessons learned are at the forefront of my mind as I fill out school paperwork this week. And because I’ve learned the value of speaking that which might seem obvious, today I’m sharing five things that I want my freshman to remember.
1. You matter. Your worth can’t be measured by the grades you earn, the clothes you wear, or the boys who show interest in you (trust me on that one). You are a child of God. He has a plan for your life.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
Be faithful and trust in His timing. Allow Him to bring you to completion. Find your worth in Him alone.
