Cheesy Pigs In A Blanket
By Tracey's Culinary Adventures on April 24, 2012
Today is National Pigs In A Blanket Day, and to celebrate, I wanted to share this appetizer recipe from Tracey's Culinary Adventures. It's a cheesy version of this traditional appetizer, but uses a homemade dough instead of something store-bought and prepared. Even better, it can be prepped in advance and saved for when you're ready to make it. It's prom season right now in many parts of the U.S., and it occurred to me that these might be a great snack to have ready for the revelers when they get home from the big event!
Make-Ahead Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket
In the past, when we've had this treat with friends it's been using the refrigerated crescent roll dough, and though no one's ever complained, I just thought it'd be fun to attempt a homemade version at least once. This recipe uses a cream biscuit dough to encase the hot dogs and it's pretty quick and easy to whip up. Best of all, as the title suggests, you can make these ahead of time, pop them in your freezer, and just bake off a few at a time as you need them.
