Cowboy Crossing

My strapping stallion of a spouse (alliteration alert!) Marlboro Man is working on a post that will be up tomorrow morning, but for today I wanted to share this photo he snapped last week as he and the crew were taking a herd of cattle across the highway. It happens every once in awhile—the need to move cattle across the highway—and it always makes me smile that none of the waiting motorists (behind Marlboro Man and beyond the other cowboy posted at the other side) ever honks or becomes impatient. There’s just a built-in understanding in this area: when cattle need to cross the road, they need to cross the road, and even though they have busy schedules like everyone else, the motorists are fine to wait. . . .
