[Editor's Note: I'm not a fan of desserts that are too sweet, so this pie, which combines the salty flavor of bacon with sweet dulce de leche, has the kind of less-sweet edge that sounds perfect to my palate. It's a great option for those late-summer meals, when the light's starting to fade earlier and earlier but the nights are still plenty warm. --Genie]
Bacon & Dulce de Leche Ice Cream Pie
Pies like this one are meant to be just a little rustic. I spun my frozen cream and then swirled in the dulce de leche at the very end of the churn so that there would be thick ribbons of fresh caramel throughout the ice cream base.
