Give Your Dolls the Dia de los Muertos Treatment

BlogHer Spotlight

Halloween might be over, but that does not mean time to put the skeletons away. Today is the start of Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. One of the most well known images of this celebration are calaveras. A calavera is a skull painted in an intricate, colorful and often floral pattern. The look and trend of calaveras has reached far beyond it's origins in Mexico. Kat Caro of Melancholy Kitties has found a way to combine her love of art and calaveras, she offers esthetic services to dolls. My personal favorite is the calavera face up. Send your doll to Kat (she only takes a very limited amount of orders each year) and she will turn it into a one of a kind work of art with a Day of the Dead theme.

Kat coyly commented on her blog:

I sincerely had no idea other people loved skullies as much as I do!

When they are as amazing as the ones she creates I can see why they love them so much.
