At the end of our day in New Orleans & The French Quarter, we headed back to Grand Isle, where we settled for a couple of leisurely days in the sun. Grand Isle is a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico, accessed on one end by the Louisiana Highway 1 causeway, and world-famous for it's fishing. We would have liked to do some fishing, but we were there at a time of year when there is a lull . . .
