This photo, from December 2012, remains one of my favorite images of our little log house. (Yesterday, all of the recent snow melted in 50-degree weather. It's more like mud season around here.) Though it represents a lot of shoveling to cut a path in the snow from the house to the driveway (which then gets attended to by a plow guy -- a necessity out here in the woods), it's a beautiful view of the fresh snow. . . .
