Houston Marathon Training: Week 5

This is a few days late, but better late than never!  Week 5 (ending on Sunday Oct. 3oth) turned out not to be a cutback after all.  MSB and I decided we were tired of traveling on weekends and opted not to go away.  We’re lazily staying home this weekend too, and I can’t wait.  If you don’t feel like going on vacation, then you should just save it for another time!  Especially when you still haven’t booked that bed and breakfast…

So I ended up with a great week of training, but ran 14 days in a row instead of cutting back.  Oops!  Don’t worry, I took yesterday off.

Here’s what I did:

Monday: 10 miles AM; weights PM

Tuesday: Rest in AM; 10.5 miles with 1 x 3 miles at marathon goal pace, 1 mile recovery, 1 x 2 miles at marathon goal pace.  Nailed it!

Wednesday: 10 miles AM; weights PM
