We all want to be better people; empathetic, kind, and generous -- and that extends to our life online. Have Fun, Do Good has 20 tips on how to become a more generous blogger, simple things you can do that will make a world of difference in another person's life.

From being mindful of a reader's time (and not wasting it!) to mentoring new bloggers, there are plenty of things on this list that all bloggers -- especially long-time bloggers -- can do to keep the blogosphere a welcoming, enjoyable space.

As Britt Bravo says, a generous blogger:

  1. Is grateful for her readers no matter how many, or few there are.
  2. Appreciates other blogs as they are, and doesn’t judge.
  3. Mentors new bloggers.
  4. Practices "link love" weekly.
  5. Leaves love notes in other blogs’ comments.

What else would you add to her list?

Great advice, I love responding to all comments, and make sure I comment often on others blogs, it is such a great way to meet new bloggers.

Great advice! I've noticed some bloggers are slow to offer advise when I've asked questions about sponsors. I've had inquiries with no idea what to charge, especially being a relatively new blogger.

i agree with the view, never quarrel with perceptions of the blogger. if you like be a constructive critique after all every perception can be supported, like steve job said design is indeed very innovative and make innovations in such a way peole accept. that way you innovate your design of thoughts with the blogger. that is my view as an infNT BLOGGER!

I always thank new followers, ask if they have any questions, ((letting them know I am here to help), and do weekly giveaways. I love how excited they get and love hearing their stories. Makes this blogger feel like a superstar!

Replies to comments, Acknowledges a commenter in future post sometimes, features other bloggers w/o compensation - just because.

All good practices. My blog is only a few months old, but already I have a pretty good reader base and its growing everyday! I appreciate every comment made, even if I don't see eye to eye with the comment.
