How to Get Back on Track When Life Derails Work-Life Balance

In my book, work-life balance is a fluid dynamic rather than some static state or something we "achieve". So, how do you get back on track when it feels totally nonexistent? Consider these ideas from someone who has gotten derailed and back up again.
It feels like “revolving parent” around here. We are in a state of one of us packing, unpacking, saying goodbye or embracing hello. Gratefully there has been nothing that called us both on the road at the same time – at least nothing we couldn’t say no to. And for my extra long road trip coming up in a couple of weeks to Australia (mostly work, a spot of family visiting tagged on to the end), we have amazing family support.
