I remember going down the road, feeling fine, when an elusive song I had heard and loved came on the radio. I didn’t know the artist, so even though I had just arrived at my destination, I sat in the car for the whole 23 minutes, hoping the D.J. would tell me the name of the band. My efforts were rewarded; it was the Allman Brothers performing “Whipping Post.” I miss the hunt of tracking down a favorite song now that mp3s and Shazam make songs and the names of artists so easy to come by. . . .
