I Tried to Guest Post... but He Never Uploaded the Article

Featured BlogHer Network Post

[Editor's Note: I've seen the suggestion floated before: a great way to find new readers for your blog is to guest blog on another person's site.  And it's true, but Wrinkled Mommy discovered the lack of rules about guest posting has the potential to create hurt feelings.  She provides some great guidelines for those who are advertising that they want guest bloggers. Has this ever happened to you? --Mel]

Two weeks passed and the article had not yet shown up on his site. I finally sent him a follow up e-mail. He explained why there was a delay and again assured me it would be posted that weekend. I was relieved and encouraged once again. However, it was not published then either, and another month passed by with no explanation from him at all.

The article, to this day, has never been published on his site.

Have you ever experienced a situation as Wrinkled Mommy describes? How would you handle it?
