[Editor's Note: Here's a confession of sorts -- I stole one of my dad's cigarettes when I was about 14-years-old and smoked it around the corner of our house when my parents were out running errands. I never told them, and thankfully no one took a photo of me doing so like recently happened to Madonna's 15-year-old daughter, Lourdes. Jo Hilder wrote about the way the New York Post ran a front-page story about the non-news-story and asks everyone to lay off the talk about Madonna's mothering skills. Now, before I go further, I must admit my own initial reaction to this story was to roll my eyes and say “Well, what did they expect?” But then I thought about it some more. That could be 15-year-old me in that photo. Really, she’s just another teenager. And what if this were my 15-year-old daughter?
This could be me. This could be my daughter.
