Last week, I was sending Alyssa (the author of our 100 mile training plan) emails about how the first week had an 18 mile run and that was insanity. We agreed to change it to a more reasonable 14-15 mile run and I felt much better about easing back into training after a restful "off season". With a long 16 week training cycle stretching out ahead of me, I didn't see any reason to start with anything too crazy.Yesterday Alyssa texted me "Hey, there are spots open in a free 50K on Saturday". . . .
