The Art of Brewing a Matcha Green Tea Latte

Editor’s note: Turn in your afternoon espresso for a home-brewed matcha green tea latte, with this easy recipe from Becky of Vintage Mixer. There is an art to the process, which Becky learned from one of her students, who shared the Japanese traditions around brewing matcha with her. Matcha is also a nutritional powerhouse, with tons of antioxidants and the ability to lower cholesterol and boost metabolism.
The whole process was beautiful and exact, from the way to whisk the powder into the water or milk, and how to hold the cup and pass it to the next person. If you know me well, you know that it was a little taste of heaven for me, experiencing God’s creativity through cultural uniqueness. I will forever think of Yuki and her Japanese traditions when I sip a cup of matcha!
