[Editor's Note: I've been saving this post since last Mother's Day, when I spotted it and thought it was a wonderful story about mother-daughter relationships, blogging, AND food. Not only is this cheesecake recipe fantastic, but you're going to love the story of how Apron Strings got its start. It's a terrific way to start off this day that honors the mothers we know and love. --Genie]
Blue Ribbon Cheesecake: The Recipe That Started It All. Is Cooking in Our DNA?
The idea of even sharing a meal with my biological motherlet alone cooking with her, side by side, exchanging pointers and laughing, casual as can bewas a fantasy pipe dream. It seemed as farfetched as winning the lottery or marrying John Cusack. No sense bemoaning it, that was just the way my life turned out. I had plenty of other things to be thankful for, including a loving adoptive family. Within a year, everything changed.
