[Editor's Note: As the 30 year anniversary of her death approaches, LA's Sheriff Lee Baca is looking to talk to the captain of the yacht carrying actress Natalie Wood when she drowned. But does the Captain have new information, or is this a timely publicity stunt for profit? What do you think? --Morgan]

Thirty years after Natalie Wood died off Santa Catalina Island, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced Thursday that it was reopening the investigation into one of Hollywood's most enduring mysteries.

Wood, 43, was boating off the island on Thanksgiving weekend 1981 with her husband, Robert Wagner, fellow actor Christopher Walken and others when she somehow went overboard and died. Officials at the time ruled her death an accident, but there has been much speculation since over whether there was more to the story.

I remember my parents always felt the whole thing was very odd. I was only 6 when she died, and I can't imagine what new info they might have on the case that would warrant reopening it.

It is my opinion that re-opening her case is just for publicity. Unless they actually have really come up with something very concrete...! I think they should just leave it alone.

I was a young girl when I began watching movies with Natalie Wood, I fell in-love with her fresh beauty. Though I've seen probably every movie she ever made, the movie that stands out in my mind is "Inside Daisy Clover," and, of course, it has to be the song that went with the movie. It is forever engraved in my memory. Ahh, the memories...so long ago. I suddenly feel very ancient!

Totally a publicity stunt. That interview didn't help his credibility at all.

Also, it coincides with a new book out on Natalie Wood, co-written by Dennis Davern, captain of the boat they were all on.

Interesting to note, that this story comes up on the 50th anniversary of West Side Story.....which leads me to believe it could be a publicity stunt...hard to say , though.

It's publicity and money. She drowned -- let her rest in peace. Robert Wagner adored her -- to claim otherwise seems ludicrous to me.

Hard to say. I have always felt this was a suspicious case. But this guy sounds really shady.
