I recently posted about the 11 live-action shorts that are still in the running for an Oscar this year. I’m not usually drawn to movies about grief and loss — too sad — but this one sucked me right in.

And the process by which the film came to be is interesting, too. It’s a collaboration between Canon and Ron Howard, directed by Ron’s daughter Bryce Dallas Howard, and the first ever user-generated photo contest that invited consumers to inspire a Hollywood production.
