When pears are in season, I eat a lot of them. I love their sweet, delicate flavor and enjoy them on their own, with good cheeses and baked into tasty desserts. I am particularly fond of comice pears, and since I happened to get a wonderfully big box of them from Harry & David over the holidays, I have been using a lot of them. . . .
