Raising (Herman) Cain: What Did Gloria Know?
[Editor's note: This week Gloria Cain, wife of pizza guru and would-be GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain, gave her first interview to Greta van Susteren of Fox News about the sex scandal engulfing her husband. It was fascinating stuff. Did Gloria know about his alleged pattern of coming on to women? Which is a tame way of describing what Sharon Bialek says Cain did to her. Which is shove her head in his crotch. (Sorry. But details are important here.) Charing Ball at Madame Noire says we shouldn’t be surprised by Gloria’s cluelessness.--Mona]
Gloria contends that she “vaguely” remembers something about the allegations and that Herman did mention it to her — but he also told her that the charges were unfounded, so therefore she left it alone. Of course, he never mentioned that the allegations resulted in the National Restaurant Association, his former employer, having to payout a $45,000 settlement with the complainant. But it probably wouldn’t have mattered anyway, because with certain women there is nothing you can tell them about their husbands.
