Three Years Later: Babies Are Still Dying

Huge strides have been made in the three years since Cora died.
The federal government recommended screening for congenital heart defects, followed by the March of Dimes, American Academy of Pediatrics and several other states.
Nine states have passed related legislation. Seven states are screening under mandate.
More hospitals are screening without mandates.
Yet, I still get notes in my inbox from parents that lost their baby due to an undetected CHD. Until those notes stop, it’s like no work . . .
